108 YANKEE POINT DRIVE | CARMEL, CA 93923

Occasionally in life you luck into the perfect setting, it just may not be at the right time.  Robyn and I fell in love with 108 Yankee Point in the summer of 2017. The house was on the market and had been for a while.  We made what we thought to be a fair offer only to have the owner tell us to drop dead.

Fast forward six months and the house is still on the market.  We had continued to talk about the house and the setting frequently over the months.  The house had gone into and out of escrow twice.  We decided to try again.  Our second offer was fundamentally the same as our first.  It was accepted.  We were the proud owners of an incredible setting and a house in need of considerable TLC.

Local friends helped us select an architect and general contractor.  We quickly learned that oceanfront real estate in California was controlled by the dreaded California Coastal Commission and strict County Planning Department rules.  We had the good fortune and good sense to hire two heavyweights, a lawyer and a former Coastal Commission commissioner to shepherd us through the legal maze.  Nine months later we had a cool set of plans, a building permit and a good general contractor.  Two years later we moved into the house you see in these photos.

Yankee Point is a couple of miles South of the city of Carmel-by-the-Sea.  Big Sur begins near Yankee Point.  The coastline, as you can see from the photos, is rugged and handsome. The house faces West so sunsets happen every day in our back yard (aka the Pacific ocean).

This is Robyn’s dream.  She is kind enough to let me hang out here with her. We want our family and friends to enjoy this home and setting as much as we do.  Come see us.
